Ideally, your bedroom should be positioned at the rear of the property. The bedroom at the back is usually quieter, with less disruption of traffic or human noise. This is usually a place overlooking the back garden so it offers more privacy as well.
Placing your bed with the head against the wall. It gives us a greater sense of security and will help us fall asleep faster. If possible, avoid placing the head of your bed on the same wall as the door. A bed head also should not be placed directly under the window. A window acts as an energy gateway between the inside and the outside world so you’re likely to get disturbed by the noise, wind, light, and shadows.
When it comes to bedroom furniture, avoid anything that hangs too low over the bed. The item can provide feelings of not feel completely safe, even if only unconsciously. If you want a chandelier, save it for the dining room or living room or at least not directly above the bed.
Large pieces of furniture beside the bed should also be avoided as it gives a feeling of pressure and oppression. Any areas where work is completed must also be removed from the room where you sleep. If you have a small office area and a desk in your room, you’ll probably try getting to sleep while thinking about work instead of clearing the mind and relaxing. Dim lighting is preferred as light and LED light can make us more alert and interfere with the quality of our sleep. While you can control the level of light in your home, you have little control over your incoming light. Electronics should be kept out of the bedroom as well. Today we are all so attached to our devices and it’s difficult to separate yourself from checking email and social media just before bed. However, the artificial light damages your chances of sleeping soundly.
Be careful about the artwork or accessories you display in your bedroom. Anything that depicts sadness, violence or strong emotions might be keeping you awake at night or affecting your dreams. Soothing, calming images and colours are a much better choice to create a relaxing atmosphere.
