Best Places To Go Around Llandudno (Within 30 minutes by car)
Staying in Llandudno and need a quick day out without wasting half your break in the car? You have some of the best sights that North Wales has to offer, right on your doorstep. Not only is the town itself worth wandering, but you can also reach several top attractions within about 30 minutes.
Great Orme
This one you don’t even have to leave town for. Drive up (or park and walk to) for panoramic views over the bay and a few short, beautiful walks. For the Best Hotel in Llandudno, visit //stgeorgeswales.co.uk/
Conwy Castle and town walls
Cute as can be: Llandudno’s Conwy 5-min trip. The castle is the main attraction, but you can easily spend a great half-day exploring the walled town, harbour and small independent shops.
Bodnant Garden
If you want something a bit more relaxed, Bodnant Garden is great for a stroll. Gorgeous planting, woodland paths and Instagrammable moments await.
RSPB Conwy Nature Reserve
Ideal as a quick nature break and very good if you like walking on the flats. For those of you who have them, binoculars are great for being on the lookout for seasonal wildlife!
Penrhyn Castle (Bangor)
An impressive National Trust stately home with large rooms and a park. It’s a pretty good indoor option in case of bad weather and with that proper “wow” factor.
Bonus: a coastal viewpoint stop
It does take a little longer, but the detour to see some coastline and get yourself that second coffee is totally worth it if there is time. There are plenty of drive-in spots in North Wales to ensure you have a trip out, rather than merely travelling.
Top tip: get an early start in high season to avoid parking headaches – it makes the whole thing feel more like a holiday.
